St. Patty's Day; military abuse; heroes; hypocrits

This article disturbs me greatly. Our military is already grossly underpaid, cuts are being promised, and now The One wants to make private insurance companies care for service-connected injuries and disabilities? Unbelievable. As far as I'm concerned, I believe any health care for any veteran should be provided by the government, even though they do a lousy job of providing any service. It is my belief that they, the military, are more entitled to free health care than anyone else, especially the politicians who make such stupid decisions. I would rather my tax dollars go to programs that would do more for our military personnel and their families. But no. Not with this administration. They're going to do what it takes to dissemble our military and disrespect our men and women in uniform. How sad.
http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/03/ap_vet_bike_031609/ Another story that breaks my heart . . . "Veteran on cross-country bike trek dies". Worth reading. It will make you proud of the kind of men and women that make up our military. This young man is an exemplary example.

Has anyone picked up on more of the hypocrisy of The One?
"Stubborn."
"Out of touch."
"Incapable of understanding" the economic crisis.
That's how Barack Obama and his presidential campaign team described John McCain last year when the Republican candidate famously said "the fundamentals of our economy are strong."
But now President Obama and his advisers are adopting similar rhetoric as they try to build public confidence in an economic turnaround.
"Of course the fundamentals are sound," Obama economic adviser Christina Romer said Sunday.
The administration is now keeping the focus on "all the fundamentally sound aspects of our economy," Obama said Friday.
The river of hypocrisy runs wide and deep in the world of The One and his followers.
And I have read that The One is pondering taxing employee health benefits (NY Times). What a guy, huh?
And the AIG bail-out fiasco? Chris Dodd is back pedalin' so fast!!! Barney Frank? Hilarious. Obama's indignation? Bwa hahahaha!
Here is the loophole, from the section of the stimulus package that deals with compensation rules for recipients:
The prohibition required under clause (i) shall not be construed to prohibit any bonus payment required to be paid pursuant to a written employment contract executed on or before February 11, 2009, as such valid employment contracts are determined by the Secretary or the designee of the Secretary.
Frankly, it’s hard to imagine how the government could prevent such contracts from being honored. But the presence of this loophole, in black and white, certainly gives the lie to all of this phony outrage — by the senator who created the loophole, by the president who signed it into law, and by everyone else who voted for the stimulus package."
Oh my. I have so much more to say, but must end this here. Tomorrow is another day. I must gather my thoughts and more information to continue. This should be enough to make your blood boil anyway.
