Dylan, Kaia, and Hannah

Dylan and Madie

Say "Cheese"

A day in my life.

If I thought our marriage could survive it, I'd have my husband give me lessons on uploading videos. I've kinda got the picture thing going, but I have problems with videos. I have several little snippets I'd like to share with you, but will have to wait until Gary edits them (another lesson I could stand to learn) and shortens them up a tad. Until then, I can share a couple stills with you. One is of Madie and Dylan. I told them to smile and, well, you'll see the results. Another is of a day in my life. I think you can figure out which one that is. I'll add them at the end of this little news letter.

Nothing much new going on. Today we are experiencing some WONDERFUL July weather. It's 75 degrees at 11:59 a.m. with low humidity. A gentle breeze is blowing -- it's a perfect summer day. I just came in from mowing the front yard and trimming some bushes. Gary and I may go out later and work on the back yard. Depends on how he feels when he gets home from work (yeah, this is his weekend again).

Yesterday evening, I helped out with a Smokey C's catering job. We served nearly 500 people!! It was awesome. Everything went really well. A lot of positive feedback from the folks and new customers, too! Everyone was worn out by the end of the job, especially those who did the preparing and planning (lots of stress!), but they did a super-D-duper job! They should be very proud of themselves. Today is an r-and-r sort of day for everyone.

Nothing new as far as my friend Ernie goes. I'm waiting for my marrow compatibility test to come in the mail. I went to the hospital to be tested the other day when they were having a drive, but they had run out of kits, so they suggested I do it on-line. I pray they can find a match. They type of cancer she has, only 500 other people have had. It's crucial we find a donor for her.

All else is going well. Everything is working again, i.e. the washer, plumbing, Gary's truck. It's been a month of repairs, but right now, all is well (knock wood). It's amazing how spoiled we are, isn't it? I went without my washer for quite awhile, which wasn't earth shattering -- just expensive. Laundramats are 'spensive!! But, when the plumbing backs up and you can't shower, now THAT'S catastrophic!! Thank goodness my daughter had the good sense to marry a man with a gift for plumbing. After a hole was cut in my dining room wall, our plumbing is running smoothly again. So, I'm washing clothes and my body without any problems. :)

My days are busy; my nights are tired. Life is good and we're healthy. Can't ask for much more than that.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

  1. Dylan looks like a popular man in town. Your living room looks like mine from the early 90's. I think I even see an Alvin the Chipmunk. The more toys in the room the warmer the household.
